Honouring divine legacy with Odisha’s first inclined ropeway to Tara Tarini Hill Shrine
Situated on the Kumari Hills along the banks of the Rushikulya River, the Tara Tarini Temple is one of India’s oldest and most sacred Adi Shakti Peethas. Devotees worship the twin goddesses Tara and Tarini here as forms of Adi Shakti, with the shrine holding deep mythological and spiritual significance. Recognised in revered texts like the Shiva Purana and Kalika Purana, this site is one of the four ancient Adi Shakti Peethas in the country.
Usha Breco introduced Odisha’s first inclined ropeway here, creating a seamless connection from the foothill to the temple summit. With four enclosed cabins and a capacity of 100 passengers per hour, the ropeway provides a safe and comfortable ascent, enriching the pilgrimage with convenience and panoramic views of the lush landscape.
